The month of January, the first month of the year, brought with it a lot of “firsts” for Mary Alice and me . . . the first time to visit this Asian country of more than 1.4 billion people . . . the first time to successfully eat with chopsticks . . . and the first time to personally meet our Chinese daughter-in-law, Cici, as well as her extended family. It’s also the first time that we’ve been with our youngest son, Justin, since he left Europe in 2019 to teach English in this part of the world.
To top it all off, Justin and Cici are now the proud parents of their first child, Cecilia Grace Stevens. On Monday, February 6, Cici gave birth to our eighth grandchild who weighed in at 8 pounds, 4 ounces! (Probably due to Justin’s height!).

Also, continue to pray with us that our words, attitudes, and actions will reflect the reality of Christ’s love to those around us.
Beyond this, I had the opportunity to preach in an international church in the vicinity last Sunday, February 19. Pray that God’s Word will encourage faith, hope, and love in the members of this culturally diverse body of believers.
Praise for God’s guidance and protection as we returned to our home in France on Wednesday and Thursday, February 22-23.
